  1. Thanks for including this. When the Made for TV Movie was still a relatively fledgling medium (at least in the U.S.), some major actors and directors dared to go against the prevailing industry grain that tended to look down on the format, and do some very commendable, noteworthy work. [*} A lot of these films have remained out of general circulation and unseen now for decades, which is a great shame in this era of hundreds of cable channels. They may in some cases be harder to track down, but the other film blogs would simply ignore these in any case. I’m very glad to see that you do not so blithely skip over them.

[* To name just four more: “Lisa, Bright and Dark” (1973, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070322/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_107, originally a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation); “Why Me” (1984, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088398/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_129); “The Burning Bed” with Farah Fawcett (1984, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087010/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1); the longer version of “Shadowlands” (1985), https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090005/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_100), with Joss Ackland and Claire Bloom, which is arguably superior to the much better known, later theatrical version with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger. And there are quite a few others.]
