    Synopsis
In a fictionalized biography, Oklahoma outlaw Belle Starr (Jane Russell) meets the Dalton gang when rescued from lynching by Bob Dalton (Scott Brady), who falls for her. So do gang member Mac (Forrest Tucker) and wealthy saloon owner Tom Bradfield (George Brent), who’s enlisted in a bankers’ scheme to trap the Daltons. Dissension among the gang and Bradfield’s ambivalence complicate the plot, as Belle demonstrates her prowess with shootin’ irons, horses, and as a surprisingly racy saloon entertainer. ~ IMDbRead More »

Plot: In this war drama, set during the Korean War, an Air Force nurse gets involved in a love triangle on the front lines. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

    Quote:
A routine film on the surface, Flight Nurse is quite original in showing war from the point of view of a nurse who is as comely as as she is generous. Far from hiding her charms under the uniform, she emphasizes the to assert the right to life and beauty. Dwan thus makes a kind of erotic ritual of her applying make-up, particularly lipstick: Joan Leslie, in sympathy with her wounded patients, knows that her sex appeal provides far more comfort to them thah her medical attentions. In desiring her, they commune with their wives or girlfriends. When it comes to healing, desire is granted the same power as prayer. When Kathleen makes noises about a show-business career, Sylvia won’t hear of it — nor does she approve of her daughter’s romance with Bill. One gets the sneaking suspicion that everything will turn out all right in the end for all four protagonists. With 26 songs in the picture, how could things not turn out all right? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie GuideRead More »

Lorenz Pedro, a Mexican half-breed, owns a small sheep ranch, and lives happily with his wife Marie and little daughter Lois. One exceedingly hot afternoon, Tom Flint, riding across the ranch looking for work is overcome by the heat, and Pedro, acting the part of a good Samaritan, takes him to his home, where Marie, through careful nursing, soon has him quite himself again. Plot: Man to Man refers to the relationship between father John Bolton (Grant Mitchell) and son Michael (Phillips Holmes) — or least, to the relationship as it should be. After serving a prison sentence for homicide (established by the screenwriters as justifiable), John starts life anew as a small-town barber. When Michael learns the truth about John’s past, it causes a rift in the relationship between the two men. But when Michael is accused of embezzlement, John gallantly shoulders the blame, even though he believes his son to be guilty — while Michael, convinced that his dad stole the money, refuses to recant his confession. Only after the true culprit is exposed are father and son tearfully reunited. Dwight Frye does his patented “Renfield” overacting in a minor role. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie GuideRead More »
