Classic post Russian civil war movie. The movie is based on the conflict between the new atheistic communist government that ruled in Uzbekistan after the 1917 revolution in Russia and the traditional laws of Islam that Uzbek people believing for thousand years. The main character is communist officer Maksumov that organized an local communist squad for fighting with anti-government Islamic elements powered by international aid lead by England. The main anti hero is Hairulla the leader of this elements… The movie starts when Maksumov back from an capital and finding that all his squad abandon the post and moved for Hairula forces, Maksumov starting to get out a plan for backing his squad to explain them that Islamic way of life is past and the Soviet rules are much better for them… Continue reading

Zagor is an Italian fumetto hero created by editor and writer Sergio Bonelli (pseudonym Guido Nolitta) and artist Gallieno Ferri. Zagor was first published In Italy by Sergio Bonelli Editore in 1961. It’s the most popular comic book since 1960’s in Turkey. There are two unofficial Turkish Zagor adaptations. In this one Zagor with his sidekick Chico fand Digging Bill fights againist the evil Black Pirate. This movie was lost so many years until the last October. Great Fulci Western With Franco Nero, 22 November 2006

“Tempo Di Massacro” aka “Massacre Time” of 1966 is the first and best Western directed by horror legend Lucio Fulci. Anybody who knows Fulci’s work won’t be surprised that this is a rather brutal Spaghetti Western, perfectly cast with the great Franco Nero.
When Tom Corbett (Franco Nero) returns to his hometown, after receiving a letter from an old friend, he finds it entirely in the hands of landowner Mr. Scott, and his insane and sadistic son Scott Jr.(Nino Castelnuovo). After visiting his alcoholic brother Jeff (George Hilton) and the old Indian lady who rose them after their mother’s death, Tom tries to find out about the Scotts, especially Scott Jr., who enjoys torturing and murdering people, but nobody in town wants to tell him about them. Early in his career, Tinto Brass tried his hands at a variety of genres. In the wake of A Fistful of Dollars the Western was hot in Italy and so even TB had a go at it. The resulting film is definitely watchable, and with interesting cinematography and decent acting it is much better than many of the other low budget atrocities Cinecitta would throw at the unsuspecting cinema-going public in the following years.
Amongst the elements one could criticise is the wiseness of the casting choices. Both Philippe Leroy and Adolfo Celi are fine actors, but they do not blend very well into this setting. Leroy is not enigmatic enough for his role (he also looks uncomfortable in his gear) and Celi is better at playing non-physical villains.
The film has little to add to the genre. The title hero, Yankee, is just a slight variant of the man with no name and throughout I watched this with a sense of deja vu. Brass certainly had a good look at the work of Leone and Corbucci. In turn, Sergio Corbucci seems to have watched this – the final scene appears to be the inspiration for Corbucci’s I Crudeli.
