Louis Feuillade – Pierrot, Pierrette (1924)

Pierrot et Pierrette, brother and sister, live in a caravan with their grandfather, the former ringmaster of a circus. To earn a living, they sing in the streets, and their lives are happy. But a charitable lady interferes, determined to put grandfather in an old folks’ home and the children in an orphanage. Pierrot and Pierrette run away, and fall into the hands of a travelling vendor who wants to use them for burglaries.

Deux enfants, Pierrot et Pierrette, chantent dans la rue afin de subvenir aux besoins de leur grand-père malade. Une ” grande dame ” se met en tête de s’occuper de leur cas et tente de les placer dans un orphelinat. Les deux enfants fuient cette éventualité. Après avoir été victimes de la dure loi de la rue, ils finissent par déjouer un cambriolage visant la ” grande dame “. Celle-ci, reconnaissante, recueillera les enfants ainsi que leur grand-père.
