Pia Hellenthal – Searching Eva (2019)
Synopsis
This is the tale of a young woman, growing up in the age of the internet and turning the search for oneself into a public spectacle, allowing kids from all over the world to live their life through hers. Through her fragmented personalities you see the emergence of a new generation, in which the concept of a fixed identity has grown old.

A revelation, very interesting and unlike any documentary or pseudo-documentary I can recall seeing. Not even sure whether it truly *is* a documentary, and the end credits playfully tease us on that question. It may have opened some new doors, in that respect. This film received awards nominations at a number of film festivals around the world (in the documentary category), but — on formal grounds among others — probably should have created even more of a stir than it did.
