A glossy, arty skinflick … the kind produced in droves after the success of “Emmanuelle”. If you had pay movie channels in the early 80s, these flicks are very familiar. This one is based on a story by Balzac, but since it’s adapted by Harry Alan Towers (using a pseudonym), it’s pretty safe to assume that the adaptation is loose and geared mostly towards getting a sex scene on film every 10-15 minutes. As these kind of films go, this one is really light on the “art” side of the equation, but it does have a plot that’s engaging enough to keep one watching between the sex scenes.
