When you put on a trashy 90s made-for-TV, ripped-from-the-headlines thriller expecting it to be a casual watch but it’s actually a well-directed and unsettling look at a misogyny-driven monster who was allowed to exact his horrifying spree because all signs were ignored and the victim wasn’t taken seriously fast enough.
Skirts into that queasy territory where the true-life events are presented as exploitative (people flying through windows and the like) but I guess in 1993 maybe they needed to go there on film to drive the point home. Even more fucked up for how many events just like this are still happening in the news and yet, here we are not doing enough still. Incredibly depressing.
