“Immacolata e Concetta, l’altra gelosia” is a very good first feature by Salvatore Piscicelli about the wildly operatic events that follow the release of the two women from prison.@NYT 1981

Immacolata, a butcher in a small town not far from Naples, is locked into a loveless marriage with Pasquale, a petty lout who is so innocuous that one scarcely even notices his tantrums. Immacolata has a small daughter she loves very much and a lover, Ciro, who owns a chain of butcher shops.
But then, without paying heed to the consequences, Immacolata takes Concetta into her house and into her bed, to the fury of her husband and the righteous indignation of her neighbours, as well as to the interested amusement of Ciro, who continues to be her lover.
