The young woman Maria lives her privileged life in the shadow of her husband Carl. When she learns that she is pregnant, she tries to look at themselves in relation to their surroundings. She is in doubt about the value of his wife being and decide to put it to the test. Carl fail. It brings her into contact with Lou and Jens. Lou is Danish and has a casual job in Bergen. Jens is professional criminal who has never succeeded in his profession. Maria attracted by these two outsiders and begins a relationship with them.
