A desperate man flees his home country of China, in an attempt to escape the curse of Malice, a dark malevolent and vengeful Chinese Nu Gui. Chinese folklore believes that these demonic souls only haunt males that have done them wrong in their past life. In an attempt to hunt down a former Shinto associate for help, Zheng takes refuge in the city of Brisbane, Australia. His efforts are futile as the nu gui stalks him at every moment, tormenting him, mentally destroying him for weeks until he breathes his final breath. His suicide ritual fails him and his letter becomes cursed by Malice.
A couple nights later, a young American male university student, who goes by the name of Joe, is on a date with a beautiful but quiet young woman. He tells her about a crumbled up letter he found on the street which he seems oddly attached too. His date is of Chinese origin and after inspecting the letter, She, tells him that it is written in Mandarin but withholds the contents of the letter from him. His date then vanishes while he is talking to the waiter, putting an end to the awkward occasion.
Things only get weirder for Joe, when he returns home to find his house mate, Lee, enjoying the company of Sai, the woman he just had dinner with. From this night onward, the nightmare begins. Joe isolates himself in his room for days on end and Lee becomes grossly obsessed with Sai. The psychological turmoil continues when the mysterious woman relentlessly stalks their female friend, Keo, mentally torturing her with the Khmer girls own dark past.
Are they the unwitting victims of a vengeful Chinese nu gui and who is the stranger named Sakura. What does she want with the curse of Malice?
