MEN ON THE BRIDGE – KÖPRÜDEKİLER by Berlin director Asli Özge won Best Film at the Istanbul, London and Adana film festivals. The film premiered internationally in Locarno and Toronto. Caught between tradition and modernity, Europe and Asia, the lives of the three main figures stagnate in the permanent traffic jam of the Bosporus bridge.
The hopes and dreams of three young men converge in the eternal standstill on the bridge that spans two continents. Fikret sells roses illegally on the bridge and is looking for a real job. Umut drives a taxi and crosses the Bosporus bridge every day. But with his salary, he can’t pay for an apartment that’s nice enough for his wife. The traffic cop Murat feels lonely among the anonymous, endless queues of cars, and searches for the love of his life on dating sites.
